Michael Lyons
Sales Manager

What are your strengths or specialisms?
Building strong relationships with people has always been one of my biggest strengths. I’m naturally approachable and enjoy getting to know clients properly so I can understand what really matters to them. I’d also say situational awareness and problem solving are key strengths of mine — every property move is different, and being able to adapt, stay calm, and find solutions is incredibly important. I also believe buying and selling homes should feel exciting, so I always try to keep the journey positive and enjoyable for everyone involved.

What experience or qualifications do you have?
I have over 10 years of experience working across both the Surrey and South West London property markets. During that time, I achieved Top Sales Negotiator awards on multiple occasions — finishing 1st twice and placing in the top three a further three years out of more than 1,200 offices nationwide. In the later years of my career, I progressed into branch management before joining Newton Huxley, where I’ve continued to focus on delivering a high level of service and results for clients.

What’s your local knowledge like?
I’ve lived locally for most of my life, spending 23 years in both Hinchley Wood and Thames Ditton before moving to Walton-on-Thames 12 years ago to raise my own family. We chose Walton because we genuinely love the area, and over the years I’ve come to know it like the back of my hand. From schools and transport links to the different neighbourhoods and community feel, I enjoy sharing that knowledge with buyers and helping sellers showcase what makes the area so special.

How would you describe your approach?
I’d describe my approach as calming, approachable, and understanding. Property transactions can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I always try to bring reassurance and clarity to the process. Having worked in estate agency for over a decade, I’ve encountered just about every situation imaginable, so very little phases me. I’m adaptable in the way I work with people and believe every client deserves a tailored approach. Above all, I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and building relationships, so I’d say personable is a big part of how I work.

Something personal – hobbies and interests outside of work
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and watching our children grow up. We spend a lot of weekends walking along the river in Walton-on-Thames and making the most of the local area. I’m also a big fan of live music and enjoy getting out on my bike for long rides around Surrey and beyond. And finally — I’m a huge Star Wars fan, which is probably the closest thing I have to an obsession outside of property!
